This class is an interdisciplinary offering, team-taught by faculty from the Philosophy and Astronomy departments (Philosophy 115/Astronomy 101). In this presentation, we'll look at the basic concepts and the practice of astrology, we'll examine some sample charts to gain an experiential sense of what astrology can do, and we'll explore deeply the philosophical concepts and intellectual rationale underlying this discipline. The latter will include 1) the Copernican revolution 2) subject and object in western though, 3) the concept of synchronicity, and 4) archetypes.
