Astrology is a powerful tool for facilitating self-awareness, transformation, and healing. It is perhaps the oldest form of psychology. Astrology’s underlying principles and methods have much in common with family systems, depth psychology, and other forms of therapy. Many therapists are curious about astrology and how it can support their work with clients, but the process of learning astrology and becoming skilled at combining it with therapy feels daunting. This beginner’s workshop, which presumes no prior experience with astrology, will introduce you to the benefits of using it in your work. You will learn:
- Ways that astrology compliments and deepens your therapeutic work with clients.
- How to use your client's Sun sign to identify and support their key developmental tasks.
- A method for uncovering the hidden source of your clients' most entrenched habits & patterns, and for moving beyond them.
- The similarities and differences among astrology, therapy, spirituality, and other disciplines.
- Guidelines for using astrology ethically (especially as a beginner), including when not to use it.
- How to effectively collaborate with a professional astrologer to better serve your clients.

Fee: $75 ($65 if registration received by April 7th). Registration fee is non-refundable.
CEUs: 5 CEUs are available for LMFTs, LMHCs, LICSWs, and LASWs. CEUs are offered throug Washington Pastoral Counseling Association (www.wpcawa.com) which is co-sponsoring the workshop.

Dan Keusal, M.S., LMFT is a counselor and astrologer in private practice in Seattle.
For more than 20 years, Dan has led workshops on psychological, astrological, and spiritual topics for a wide range of organizations, including Microsoft, Providence Health Systems, Seattle University, and dozens of churches, professional organizations, and community groups click here for a complete list). By integrating practical examples with stories, humor, and the arts (film, music, poetry, and more), Dan has gained a reputation for making complex ideas accessible, speaking to the heart as well as the head, and building bridges between disciplines.
Dan holds a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University and is WA State Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. He has studied Analytical (Jungian) Psychology at the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago, and has served as President of The Seattle Counselors Association.
After two years of training with local astrologers Sheila Belanger and Laura Nalbandian, Dan completed a five-year astrological apprenticeship with internationally renowned astrologer, author, and teacher Steven Forrest. Three times Dan has been invited to serve on the faculty of the Northwest Astrological Conference (NORWAC), one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious astrological conferences.
Dan holds a degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame, and completed basic training in shamanism with The Foundation for Shamanic Studies.
In his leisure time, Dan enjoys baseball, photography, and playing the guitar.
